Beat The Runway 2015 Highlights [Video]
On Thursday, November 5, 2015, popular hip-hop radio station 104.5 The Beat pleasantly delivered at their second annual fashion and music show, appropriately called BEAT the Runway - a unique event partnering fashion, music, live musical performances and charity.
104.5 The Beat partnered with Salvation Army to conduct a clothing drive where attendees were encouraged to bring gently used clothing items to be donated in exchange for a swag bag courtesy of the Florida Mall's Sephora branch.
Naturally, the venue, Orchid Garden, was stunning and located on West Church Street in Downtown, Orlando.
Prior to the event, the radio station advertised to a wide range of models to attend casting calls. First-time BTR model and dear friend of mine, Habii Yabii, auditioned for the show and received her callback. I got a chance to interview a super talented recording artist and BTR model, Katelyn Jae, who's signed with Johnny Wright's label Wright Entertainment Group (WEG Music).
The show was hosted by two Orlando-based personalities that had great chemistry, DJ D Strong & Viva La Koi. Live performances were given by recording artists, Katelyn Jae (of course), Steph Lecor, JR Castro and Van ChiSO and Floydie! Designer collections featured on the show ranged from Hoop Culture, A'GACI, Wildside Clothing, Tinkas Closet and Salvation Army.
I produced and edited this highlights video showcasing my first ever BTR experience for your viewing pleasure. Check it out below!
And, how can I forget pictures? Check me out with my BEAT the Runway friends.
