Exploring Little Five Points
As a new ATLien, there was no way I could not visit the world famous Little Five Points. The land where hipsters meet Bohemian chic. To "kill two birds", I explored the L5P neighborhood and I had a photoshoot with Jeneue.art. Actually, make that three birds. I almost forgot that I took public transportation for the first time in over ten years. Exploring the Marta train station was liberating in itself.
I visited the famous Little Five Points in Atlanta, GA recently. It was quite an experience. According to Wikipedia, the name is a reference to Five Points, which is the center of downtown Atlanta. "Little" Five Points refers to the intersection at the center of the neighborhood. Two points are provided by Moreland Avenue (U.S. 23 and Georgia 42), which runs perfectly north/south, and forms the county line dividing Fulton and DeKalb.
There is so much to do at L5P, including shopping, eating and art everywhere. Oh my!
Little Five Points is what some people call Atlanta’s hippie ‘hood. Vintage stores line the streets alongside a natural foods market and indie radio station. Basically, everything in the vicinity is Bohemian chic.
During my visit, I took in the music of street performers while happily people watching at the same time.
"ANOTHER THING LITTLE FIVE DOES PARTICULARLY WELL IS STREET ART, WHICH ADORNS SEVERAL BUILDINGS AROUND THE AREA AND RANGES FROM MUSICAL TO HISTORICAL TO PATRIOTIC TO URBAN."

The amenities of Little Five Points are:
Vintage apparel shops
Eateries
Smoke shops
Clothing bazaars
Tattoo parlors
A natural food co-op
An indie radio station
Independent bookstores
More than a few pubs
A giant, 30-foot-tall skull that leads you to an awesome burger joint called Vortex where I had lunch
This mixture of edgy artfulness pales in comparison to the people who live and work in this area. Though the main strip of Little Five (as the locals call it) is relatively compact, running mainly along Euclid Avenue and part of Moreland, it is attracting visitors, vendors and performers, all vying for a good experience with this neighborhood.
